Cricket Thread. Only Mad Dogs And Englishmen

Was the oldest living England Test cricketer. That distinction now belongs to Micky Stewart OBE (wiki, born 1932), then M.J.K. Smith (wiki, born 1933) and Dick Richardson (wiki, born 1934).

    Political Frailty

Updated the lists of U.S. WWII veterans within the 3 pillars of federal government following the recent deaths of Henry Kissinger and Austin Murphy. 11 names left now. 2 September 2025 will mark 80 years since the end of WWII. How many of the above will still be here? I reckon about 3.

    Ideas and possibilities for 2025

Thought I'd follow on from Alfred Hitchcock Presents by looking at Tales of the Unexpected. I've covered both the original U.S. and longer running U.K. series. My understanding is still that the cancer is in the bladder, though it has "spread". I'm hearing all kinds of things, from "close shave", "caught early enough", though one of my doctor friends recently told me "the cancer is everywhere in his body now". Not sure what to believe tbh.

    Ideas and possibilities for 2025

Was watching Alfred Hitchcock Presents (later called The Alfred Hitchcock Hour) earlier, and was curious to see who's still around. Of the 361 episodes that aired from 1955 and 1965, only two of its many directors are still living: George Stevens Jr. (wiki, born 1932) and Lewis Teague (wiki, born 1938). Of its cast, the following (with Wiki pages) are still living: June Lockhart (wiki, born 1925) – oldest surviving but actually starred in one of the last episodes Dick Van Dyke (wiki, born 1925) David Frankham (wiki, born 1926) Barbara Dane (wiki, born 1927) Betty Harford (wiki, born 1927) Rosemary Harris (wiki, born 1927) Peter Walker (wiki, born 1927) H. M. Dying Bigots

Donald Lee Stewart died on January 24, 2024, aged 84, according to an unsourced edit to his Wiki page. I can't find anything on Google or Facebook. He was usually known as "Apostle Stewart". I can find an old page on Facebook that hasn't been updated since the early 2010s. All of his websites are long down.

Foreign Personalities, From Stage, Screen, Politics And Life

Yvon Gattaz was killed off on both French and English Wikis today by an anonymous French IP, claiming that he died today. Could be bs, could be something.
