Hmm, it's tough to come up with obitable Estonians in the right age. Applying my limited knowledge on this list:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Estonians

I can only come up with one suitable name, and that is Arvo Pärt, the world-famous minimalist composer:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arvo_P%C3%A4rt

Maybe also Ants Antson, Winter Olympics gold medal winner at Innsbruck 1964, for his age and the name:

I believe that Arnold Rüütel and Edgar Savisaar would also get obit.

This band has toured in the UK so if they had a plane crash or tour bus accident resulting in death the member would get an Orbit.

The retired football player Mart Poom would also get an Orbit but none are really age related potential hits for decades to come.

Slavs didn't cover Estonia?

No, Estonians are not "Slavs", and are unrelated to them. They are Balts, but they speak a Finnic (or: Fennic) language similar to Finnish and Sami (also known as Lapp) languages.

Technically, Slavic languages are closer to English than Estonian, since the former two are Indoeuropean languages.

Do Latvians and Lithuanians also speak a Finnic language? What about the so-called " Old Prussians" who lived in what became East Prussia before the Teutonic knights evicted (read: committed genocide against) them?

No, Latvian, Lithuanian and Old Prussian are Baltic languages, which are indeed genetically related to Slavic languages (and other Indoeuropean languages) and unrelated to Finnic languages. Estonians are "Baltic people" only in the geopolitical sense (they shared a common history with Latvians and Lithuanians). They are a little similar to Finns, who live in a Nordic country, but are unique among them as they don't speak a North Germanic language (like Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Icelandic or Faroese).

Eino Baskin died this year.

Does this sound like slavic to anybody? Estonians have nothing except the fact Soviet Union ruined our lives in common with other slavic people.

Oooh, I know her from Eurovision 2000 and "Once In A Lifetime". :hatsoff:Anyway, back to the Slavic question; let us also not forget that the Estonians do not tend to vote for the Slavic countries at Eurovision (Russia being an exception and I suspect that has to do with border hopping/ethnic Russians) which empirically and categorically clears that little matter up once and for all.

Estonian composer Anti Marguste (great name!) has died aged 84. I'm afraid I don't trust my obviously brilliant Estonian language skills to find a suitable obit, but the Wiki page is here.

One of the most famous Estonian conductors Eri Klas has died aged 76. If there is any English obit, then I would consider this as a personal miss of the year.
