(Side note - In my yoof I seem to remember an episode in which she displayed what later became known as a camel-toe. Stuck in my impressionable memory for years).

I think I watched the same episode

She was in her bikini in "Death to the Daleks" but I'm struggling to remember camel toe....

She was wearing candystripe dungarees, if my oft-pickled brain is serving me faithfully, but can't remember the episode or story. Funny that...

That would be "The Hand of Fear", her last story on Doctor Who in 1976...

Yes, I remember her from Blake's 7. Looking at photos on the internet, she grew into quite a pretty woman after that:

Following on from the above, just wondering if the Andrew Smith RTD "dates" is the same as this openly-gay Andrew Smith aka Andrew Hayden-Smith who has had guest roles on Doctor Who in recent times, or are there two of them?

http://en.wikipedia....ew_Hayden-Smith

Not that I really care less.

Different Andrew Smiths. It's a fairly common name here.

Sad Dr Who fact: An Andrew Smith wrote the 1980 story "Full Circle" when he was just 18. He later became a successful cop in Scotland...

Peter Halliday, who starred in "A for Andromeda" and later appeared in Doctor Who in the 1960s, 70s and 80s has died...

Guest Dr Who fan

He was one of the most prolific and popular of all the guest actors on Dr Who.My favourite role was when he played the part of the hapless Packer in the 1969 story 'Invasion'

Im really sad that Solon from The Brain of Morbius has died. One of my all time fave Dr Who stories. Also sad to report the death of actor Dennis Chinnery, who played the part of the scientist Gharman in Genesis of the Daleks. http://www.doctorwho...-1926-2012.html Sad time all round for Dr Who fans :(

Off-topic but has anyone here been following Wife in Space? A middle-aged Dr Who nut is making his wife (who loathes the show) watch every episode in chronological order with him. She provides a running commentary. The key to the site's success is that the wife is actually very witty in a sardonic way:

Worth reading for a laugh during those quiet stretches between deaths.

Magnificent actor was Madoc, and by heck, just remembering the "Don't Tell Him Pike" clip when I heard the news, let alone seeing it again, brought a smile. RIP

As you will see most are still with us but there were two deaths in 2011.

I know this forum is awash with Doctor Who fans so please don't try and get into a canonical debate about who is and who isn't considered as a genuine companion and just see if there are any names here you might be thinking of for 2013.

Anyone who says Bonnie Langford automatically - It's just wishful thinking.

Enjoy

Of those, Caroline John and Frazer Hines have had cancer battles in recent history, but seem to be recovered. (Cancer took 5 of the 7 who are gone: a weak heart and a fall down the stairs seeing off Michael Craze, and a diabetic heart attack Ian Marter). Obviously people will look at William Russell, but he's always seemed to be fairly chipper (he has a son who is about 22!). Jean Marsh is the one to watch, that stroke last year took a lot out of her, only just on the mend. Still a strong character, but these things add up.
