William Wilson MBE, former chairman of Aston Martin, has died at 93. http://announce.jpress.co.uk/isle-of-man-today/obituary/william-wilson-mbe/41797614

He famously bought the company for £100 in 1972 and 3 years later sold it for over £1m.

THATS the obit link attached? Besides a nice telly number I can prank call from the States, it doesn't say anything this guy 'famously' did (or even so much as mention AM). Oh I could confirm on Wiki surely---that's not what we do here. Don't be presumptuous. Only Willie Wilson I ever heard of played some fine centerfield for the KC Royals. ;-)

Appreciated. But it's definitely his obit. Nothing more substantial I could find, but I'll keep looking and update like I always do if I discover something better.

Not much better, but still: http://announcements.telegraph.co.uk/deaths/190685/wilson-william-angus-walter-mbe

KC Royals? Sounds delicious.

That's not an obituary, it's a death notice. It's like a classified ad - people pay to have these announcements published. There is a difference.

Not really the perfect thread, but CEO of King World Productions, Michael King, is dead at 66, according to TMZ:

http://www.tmz.com/2015/05/27/michael-king-dead-dies-oprah-dr-phil-king-world/

It's more memorable to say that he created shows like 'Oprah' and 'Dr. Phil' and also acquired the rights to 'Wheel of Fortune' and 'Jeopardy'.

I guess people with the surname King could have made a winning theme team this year.

So with Helmut Kohl's troubles, I decided to check on some other members of my team. The Liliane Bettencourt case is now over and she was in fact being exploited (another case of elder abuse, like BB King and Harper Lee):

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-32923006

She suffers from dementia and Alzheimer's (Is there a difference? I honestly don't know.). But then I guess people can survive biologically like that for years.

Alzheimer's deals with forgetfulness whereas dimentia deals with figments of one's imagination, a false reality. My mother recently passed and suffered from both. Forgetting to bathe oneself for a week is Alzheimer's, talking to me when I visit thinking I'm her dead brother, that's dimentia.

What elder abuse did BB King suffer? That's news to me.

Thanks for the explanation. Well, BB's daughter suspected elder abuse by his manager:

Another no-go for me: I picked ex-Hewlett Packard chairman Ralph Whitworth for my DDP team since he had left his position after suffering a recurrence of throat cancer, reportedly with a "worse prognosis". I assumed that meant terminal, and although it was initially - he had been given 8-10 months to live - he's now recovered thanks to cutting-edge treatment and recently enjoyed a private Rolling Stones concert http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2015/may/29/rolling-stones-whitworth-belly-up-concert-jagger/

There has been so little information released about the health of Samsung chief Lee Kun-Hee, who has been in hospital for nearly a year, that the Korean press are speculating he may have died some time ago.

Business Korea, "Korea's Premier Business Portal", say that Lee Kun-Hee is showing signs of recovery. They base this statement on a recently released photo of the ailing patriarch:

Accordingly, rumors over Lee’s health and death are expected to disappear for a while

Hmm, judging from that photo, he can only be currently recovering if he had been dead for a while.

There seems to be progress on several fronts in the battle against cancer. I guess very rich people can already significantly reduce their risk of cancer-related death with lots of money. I've also read that soon, the global number of cancer-related deaths will be surpassed by deaths from multi-resistant organisms.

Ed Hardy founder Christian Audigier, 56, has cancer:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-3029279/Ed-Hardy-founder-Christian-Audigier-stands-inspirational-message-revealing-battle-cancer.html

It seems like the treatment is going fine though.

Now his former "partner" Regis Mijatovic, himself the boss of Playboy fashion, is dead after a shooting:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3111658/Cancer-stricken-designer-Christian-Audigier-devastated-Ed-Hardy-partner-ambushed-gunned-Mafia-hit-French-Riviera.html

Here, "partner" probably means business partner.

The ArmageddRon of 2015 continues! This "time" (see what I did there?) it's Ronald A Wilford, chairman and chief executive of Columbia Artists, and who used to manage famous conductors like Herbert Von Karajan and Colin Davis, amongst many others. He was 87. http://www.nytimes.com/2015/06/14/arts/music/ronald-wilford-manager-of-legendary-maestros-dies-at-87.html?_r=0

Sadly not on the DDP for anyone.
