They played that as they sent my mate Mark off to be cremated, great way to send off a good mate, makes me smile every time I hear it. :)

Best regards

Syd

This is my favorite and most goose-bump inducing T-Rex song of all time.

Great stuff. I remember putting one of the dancers from this video into 'Room lovely'. He is wearing a pink top on 49 seconds. In case you miss him, I appear on 1:37 (wearing a yellow top) to point him out for you.

This is interesting in that no one appears to suffer any side effects from all that man made fibre and friction. (Except him on 45 seconds, who appears to be experiencing some chafing).

Stuart Maconie's Freak Zone played

often overlooked gem last Sunday. If Elvis had cut it instead it would probably still rightfully be regarded as a classic.

Cross-reference with this, imho

I've got this on my mp3 player after someone flagged it up last year!

I have a hunch that 'someone' might have been me. The bigger branch of the MPFC brood developed a fondness for it and started sharing the joy with his Facebook friends.

I thought it might have been TMIB, but we're both wrong - it was Honez; see here.

For your delectation....

A unique rendering of Comfortably Numb

Once heard, never forgotten

Ouch. One of the greatest songs of all time, slaughtered. This really does not do justice to the the great music of the Scissor Sisters...

Just been looking up some stuff on Shirley Temple and found this

- great stuff. Nothing to do with Temple, I just noticed that she and Garland went to the same dance school and were both up for the part of Dorothy in Wizard of Oz.

More in the same vein:

The only reason I'd ever want to be Australian is so I could understand more than 5% of

back catalogue. Big tune.
