Mayo was actually developed in the late 1700s and first sold in the early 1900s.

Tough life for a woman, no wonder she died, she was over 200 years old.

Developed (invented?) at Mahon, capital of Menorca, The Balearic Islands

Indeed, I didn't know half the ages of celebrities that I do now before I found this site. I'm the first one to bring up a death at the dinner table.

That could be a food allergy. I should have it looked at if I were you.

I felt I had to highlight the French involvement in the invention of what can only be described as a culinary classic.

History of Mayo

Mayonnaise was invented in 1756 by the French chef of the Duc de Richelieu. After the Duc beat the British at Port Mahon, his chef created a victory feast that was to include a sauce made of cream and eggs. Realizing that there was no cream in the kitchen, the chef substituted olive oil for the cream and a new culinary creation was born. The chef named the new sauce "Mahonnaise" in honor of the Duc's victory.

I would add that Hellman's and mayonnaise are mutally exclusive. (It is impossible for real mayonnaise to be white or low fat).

Maybe I shouldn't have started this mayonnaise thing, but geez, you guys know real mayonnaise has lots and lots of fat and cholesterol which adds names to the deathlist forum quite easily.

....and, I still like Grim Rita's avatar...wooooooo hooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

She was never a real favorite of mine but she starred a lot with Danny Kaye who is one of my favorite actors.

Don't they say these things happen in 3's?

Danny Kaye

Danny Kaye who is one of my favorite actors.

Not entirely sure about this, and am willing to be corrected, but I think that the tense is incorrect in the above quote. As Mr Kaye is no longer among us then it should be 'was' one of my favourite actors.

Still haven't a clue who V. Mayo is though.

Not at all, Danny Kaye IS my third favorite actor after Cary Grant and James Stewart, the fact that they are dead doesn't mean that they aren't still my favorites.
