"Tom Koch, a creator of the vexingly convoluted game of 43 man Squamish for Mad magazine and unheralded author of thousands of comedy scripts for Bob and Ray radio programs that in his words parodied “pompous versions of real people,” died on March 22 at his home in Laguna Woods, Calif. He was 89." http://www.nytimes.c...at-89.html?_r=0

Fox News has a different take, quoting the longetivity of US comedians. Which list shall form the basis of my DDP team next year, if I'm spared myself of course. http://www.foxnews.c...-keep-laughing/

That used to be my team name.

Where's does that phrase come from?

I'm Scottish, something my grannies used to say, origin tho, dunno.

Yes, it's something old people used to say, like a sort of superstitious insurance policy.

My new team name is a standard Irish condolence phrase, used when addressing the recently bereaved.  I like the way it treats death as a minor inconvenience, like a flat tyre or a broken-down tractor.  :P
