Just discovered another death post-78, Vojacek, who played for Czechoslovakia in two games (including versus England) in 1982, died in 2006. Last post updated for him and Flohe.

In the end Heinz Flohe is the next to join the 1978 list. A former DDP pick as well. Ottmar Walter from the 1954 winning German side alsi died this weekend.

Weird that Khalawi's death hasn't been reported outside of Arab press at all, what with his cap record. You'd have thought one of The Guardian's dudes would have chipped in with a blog post or something. Arabic footballers probably the least sexy out there, with the exception of Australasia.
