Aye, indeed BS. One crude statistic about many mammals is their seeming inability to survive more than one and a half billion heartbeats. TM slows the heart down. mebbe summat in that. Then again, he was rumoured to be a chilled out old letch well into late middle age. No proof ever offered, but strong rumours.

That can't be right, living to 70 at 72bpm gives you 2.6bn.

He featured on the 2002, 2004 and 2005 DeathLists, but then dropped off the radar  . Picked by 4 DDP teams this time.

I hope Roberto comes back for a rant.

Just a couple of days ago the Veryrichi Lotsamoney Yogi Bear announced his retirement from leading that bunch of profiteering swindlers the Incontinent Intransparant Transcendental Meditation Movement. Those guys really have the gift of sooth-saying, don't they?

The Maharishi is in pretty tough shape, his birthday I believe is today or tomorrow and he is about 91 years old. The rumours going through the TM organization are that he has given up control to his "rajas" and has asked for a memorial to him be erected in 48 cities. Apparently his last filmed puja shows him crying, but I haven't seen it. My guess is he goes this year, but apparently he did not make your list.

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi must be living on a routine for a while. All the meditation and mind exercises must be the key to his wise age.
