I know many members have you in their minds at the moment LG. Tough times are often a feature of a loving family life. The burden of having someone so close having to endure the worst, ill health, part of life is rough for many to go through. Wish you and your Dad well.

On matters thread like... The 2013 DL Con... I'll have a go at seeing what we can pull together, but I know it won't be a patch on what you could have put together and I'm sure it been a wonderful LG production.

OK, so DL Con VII (Canterbury really has to be judged as Con VI because of the turnout) is to be in Scotland.

I think Edinburgh is most people's ideal to be the backdrop city (however the Glasgow, 5th Oct, original idea still has some merit) but the venue will be even harder to get right. Remembering that with the Fringe and Tattoo on in August it is a busy period for Edinburgh between the 2nd and the 26th.

It is unlikely I will be organising the Scotland meet up this year, my father had a further fall while in hospital and fractured the other part of the hip he fractured in January, the operation to fix it would most likely have killed him, we refused permission. He is being treated 'conservatively' now, pain management and comfort being the main aims.

I am not online very much now because I need to be able to attend my work, visit my dad and provide support for my mum, although that has found us ordering old TV series from Amazon. Mum and I never watch TV together before but we are sort of enjoying that.

I have asked Rotten Ali if he will think about organising the Scotland meet up, I will be on hand for advice. I cannot do July at all, and can't do the start of August.
