Ideas and possibilities for 2007

Cant find any mention of Teddy Kollek on DL.

It could be me (thick bas***d)

Mayor of Jerusalem 28 years.

Gets a couple of mentions on BBC so presumably qualifes for an obit.

B 27/05/1911.

Anyone enlighten me further?

Interesting choice, he was Mayor of Jerusalem for almost 30 years, which is quite an achievement.

Has had a movie made about him.

I'd say he was famous enough, don't know how his health is though.

Found a pic of him inhaling.

95 & a cigar smoker?

Usually a good sign - no?

One would think, but Lew Grade lasted aeons, he was late 90's when he died, IIRC, George Burns was a cigar smoker, who went at 100 & again, IIRC, one of the more recently deceased WWI British veterans was a cigar smoker!

Anybody mentioned Harry Morgan lately?

One of my all-time favourite actors. Looked well the last time I saw him, which was early 2000's. I had him my DDP in 2004 & decided, if he doesn't go at 89, I can see him going on for years. I, for one, hope so.

A fine actor without doubt. His Sherman Potter in M.A.S.H. left Alan Alda looking amateur.

The last acknowledgement on IMDB was 1999.

Any advances ?

Yep, 2002, on a MASH 30 year celebration, which is when I saw him last.

Apparently inducted into a Western Films Hall of Fame only last month, but no word on his health.

Harry Morgan Profile

The above link is a nice write-up. No word on ill-health but he does look a little bit more older :P & frail than he did when he was in 3rd Rock from the Sun & the film Incident In A Small Town.

and below... keeping on the cigar smokers theme - the legend himself. God bless ya' Harry

Sounds like it'll make a good episode of House...

Hugh Laurie is definetely one of Britain's most entertaining exports. Piss-poor DL candidate though.

Abu Musab al-Zarqawi has been sentenced to death.. Unfortunately the authorities

haven't caught him yet, so I think they might be getting ahead of themselves a bit.

The Duke of Wellington

When this guy dies he will probably get an obit because of his famous title. Born in 1915, turns 91 this year. Unfortunately no news on his health.

Found him when looking up Knights of the Garter. There's a vacancy following the death of Ted Heath so fingers crossed. :D

Perhaps a novelty pick for 2007.

With the passing of Coretta Scott King, my thoughts turned to other figures from that era. One who came immediately to mind:

Henry Kissinger (saw him on the Daily Show a little while back. Seemed fairly portly for such an elderly guy)

Henry looks too good to pick for awhile.

This man has a massive heroin habit. $4500 a day? Very very dangerous.

wow, that seems like that would be a lot of heroin. And what do we think is the focus of the readers of The Advertiser (a name that screams quality journalism), as the top four stores at present on the site are the following:

STORIES IN THIS SECTION

Bail for alleged child-porn importer

Naked cyclist to be exposed in court

Net porn king 'heroin problem'

Sex offender 'can't control urges'

Limping in at a weary number five was some update on Bin Laden.

That's 4500 AUS$. Still sounds like a lethal dose to me, unless it's really rubbish smack.

Does one of our antipodean members know more about the local market in recreational drugs?

regards,

Hein

any one Muhammad cartoonist?

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11383819/

I wish Cheney had drawn one of the pics and had a fatwa on his head, b/c then we'd finally have something on which we could agree with our Halibut bretheren. Unfortunately, the only thing Cheney can draw is a gun, and he can't even do that very well.
