Authors Last A Long Time, But....

Recommended Posts

Novelist Rebecca Farnworth has died from cancer, aged 49.

She was a published author in her own right, but achieved greater fame by ghost-writing Katie Price's books.

FFS, Katie Price is looking for a new ghost writer...where do I sign?

Shouldn't be too difficult a job to write her next autobiography...

Aye, but scouring the hundreds of pictures to get the right one would have its compensations!

The Guardian - Not just there for the nasty things in life such as pointing out the malfeasence of the establishment but providing Obits for your risky theme team picks.

It will be J R Hartley next....

Crime writer Ruth Rendell in a critical but stable condition after suffering a stroke.

Her condition has deteriorated-she's now said to be 'fighting for her life' http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2911356/Crime-writer-Ruth-Rendell-fighting-life-stroke.html

If I had picked Ruth Rendall and Barbara Vine would I get double points?

Unfortunately I picked neither this year

I am really sad about this, as she is one of my favourite authors, even though her recent novels have lacked her characteristic edge. Still good reads, but too tame for me.

Going by interviews she has given, she seems to have pursued a very healthy lifestyle, plenty of exercise, eating sensibly etc. So that didn't work.

Well, you don't know. If she'd been a raving alchie trading blow jobs for bevvy in a back alley would she have lived longer?

She should get the Gordie Howe 'serious stroke' cure and the two can be on Dancing With the Stars next season.

Not sure if getting a book published constitutes a person becoming 'an author' for our purposes (oh technically yes, but please)....but some Kiwi named Celia Lashlie has terminal pancreatic-spread-to-liver cancer and shall be leaving us soon enough. She'll not see 2016 so in not posting it there. I am an experienced DPer and can make that medical determination lol.
