Drake Levin, lead guitarist of the improbably-attired Paul Revere & the Raiders, has died of cancer at 62.

Now Paul Revere, the eponymous hero and organist of the group, is in a bad way. Former Raider Mark Lindsay has posted this on Facebook:

It now seems, unfortunately, that my old partner Paul Revere – with whom I used to share outrageous wild dreams of being a successful rock & roll band – is now fighting a tremendous heath [sic] battle. Please keep Paul and his wife Syd in your thoughts and prayers, as it's a most difficult time for both of them and the whole Raider family. ~ Mark

, anyone? It went all the way to number 1 in the US in 1970.

Paul will not be accompanying the Raiders on any of their tour dates this year.

Deid.

Mark Bell of 90s techno pioneers LFO has died.

Stuart Maconie played them recently on one of his Freakzone shows and I was reminded how good they were.

Bad news all round.

That debut single came within an ace of being the most uncompromising UK Top 10 hit ever.

American Idol finalist from 2009 Scott MacIntyre is in the need of another kidney transplant.

He's got 6 months until his kidneys fail, according to his doctors. Might be worth keeping an eye on for next year.

A dangerous mistake if you're - like - 14 years old and back stage.

A choice between a paedophile and a born again Christian would actually cause a slight hesitation...

This came as a big surprise. If you had to choose which of Liza Goddard's ex-husbands would die first I imagine most Deathlisters would have gone for the Fat Timelordy one.

Yeah, and I'm not suggesting owt other than co-incidence but a full-on cynic might be interested in the fact he has an album out next Monday.
