Jimmy Savile

Bang goes watching the Teardrop Explodes' first appearance on TOTP circa February 2016, sigh...

Just an idea, like

Why don't the BBC get to work CGIing some famous types (Freddie Starr, Jim Davidson, Jimmy Tarbuck etc.) to deliver the original announcements but replace the convicted pervs on old TOTP footage?

Joking aside, it's bloody ridiculous that they haven't been showing the old TOTPs because of the presence of these blokes. (Personally I, along with all my friends, found Savile offensive back in the 60s and 70s, but they still showed him regardless.) Why this sudden compulsion to expunge all these people from history? I remember they even cast a convicted murderer in a lead role in one of their most popular soaps. What hypocrisy.

At the very least they could just edit out the links from the affected programmes. TOTP2 was produced using captions only. Surely it would only be a couple of days work for some junior BBC editing assistant. The repeats of TOTP are usually edited anyway - the early evening one tends to have a couple of songs cut out to fit into a 30 minute slot. The late night repeat is complete.

Not to mention Broadcasting House showcases the art of everyone's favourite incestuous dog-fucker Eric Gill.

While I was trying to find out if he fucked any dogs that he was actually related to, I came across this old article, interestingly on the BBC site:

Can the art of a paedophile be celebrated?

For some reason I always read "custard" when I see that word in relation to Yew-Tree. I've now realised, it reminds me of Noels House Party and TISWAS and the like. Maybe if they gave them custardial sentences (i.e. make them watch repeats of Noel's House Party) that would serve as a better deterrent.

On a related topic, this hugely offensive t-shirt suggesting rape amounts to a "snuggle with a struggle" is causing a stir. The phrase might almost be DLT's manifesto with regard to his recent defence

This thread is damn interesting from page one till the end. Great to read that Anubis the Jackall smelled the stinking skeletons already on page one!

The Cliff story is moving slowly (if anyone else has come forward at all...) Still no news on who the "tax exile rocker" might be either.

DLT sentence to be reviewed. On the bright side, Prison Radio Network might be his best chance of starting a comeback.

Im just wondering, what with the current conviction rate, would it be possible to create a theoretical radio station with a list of those convicted placed into a breakfast, mid morning, and so on, slot?

How about a top ten of records made by convicted sex offenders or summat?

Glitter would go in at one ( if he cant find a ten year old) but who would fill the other nine, umm, slots?

Glitter would go in at one (if he can't find a ten year old) - Comedy gold LFN, I salute you.

Re that radio station

DLT, Denning, Savile, Gambo and Fox gives us something like 12 hours a day (2-3 hour shows starting with breakfast), so that's the highest rated stuff covered. We're stuffed for the more specialist shows, mind (the bastards presenting those actually like music and get into radio for the right reasons).

Stuart Hall for the Weekend Sports show, obviously.

Maybe Ian Watkins has a better claim for 'one'.?

Please may it be so!

How can you say that when cunts like James Corden and Noel Edmonds are still at liberty.

Fry is a minor irritant by comparison.

I rather like Fry's TV persona. Perhaps he's a bark in private. That irritating minors does hint that way. Does he confuse cats too?

Its a pity the likes of Godot aren't about, ya know, guys ITK who could give us some pointers as to the direction Yewtree could take.

After the frenzy of the last couple of years and the Cliff Richard debacle, things have gone a bit quiet.

Revving up a little today as the number of NHS institutions involved in the Savile enquiry rises to 41. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-29932391 at this rate of growth I'm guessing statisticians would predict the entire planet will be involved in the enquiry by early 2021.
