I guess he was too old to rock and roll, & wasn't too young to die. ;)

True but an obit for him may lead to a proper obit for Dennis Frederikson.........Frederikson did vocals on the Eye of the Tiger album as he was lined up to be lead singer. Jamison got the  gig.

Either way, the tonnage of coverage devoted to - frankly - a third rate act is encouraging for those of us studying the form of a host of ageing musos, it near enough guarantees that anyone in a major prog/rock/folk-rock/chart pop act from the sixties on gets BBC Entertainment notice etc. and qualifies for obit points.

It still is fuckin fantastic Rock song even after 20 years

Which leads to Gillespie.

Candidate? Over 50 and had it hard. First saw him 30 years ago , directly after an Old Firm game so the blood was up, and there was 3 great support bands.

On came the Jesus and Mary and they lasted a song and a half before being bottled off :D

iirc, he was the first to bolt after being hit, the brothers who had been arguing sort of teamed up with a 'fuck you' to the crowd attitude.

Bad move.

Massively over-rated in my pointless opinion. Did they do any other songs apart from this one, and that other one?

One of many, many bassists for the band and a veteran of the Mersey scene in the 60s. Great bassline on 'Love is the Drug'. RIP...

Couldn't agree more. Download Sonic Flower Groove - bandwagon jumping bastards.
