Nothing worse than an obit-worthy celeb who only reveals that he has terminal cancer a week before he goes.

I think it's related to the five stages of grief. Acceptance comes last.

Funny you should mention that when I'm listening to a Queen album!

What? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, not Roger Taylor! What's he got?

(Er also... he didn't mention it just now he mentioned it on 23 June.)

Nah Zorders, the death rattle was almost in Freddie's throat when they finally announced AIDS was seeing him out. He's one of the worst cases of playing the death card close to his chest amongst all celebs. Incidentally, I really don't like Queen at all, I was suffering through Hot Space because I'm busy compiling a radio show of disco/dance disasters.

Yes, I knew that..... I was just using it as an excuse to joke about the lesser members of Queen.

*facepalm*

You've been a terrible audience folks, goodnight

Will Disco-Tex and the Sex-O-Lettes feature high on the list?

Study finds the funniest comedians most at risk from premature death: http://www.abc.net.a...dy-find/5947460

Was the study simply "looking at Wikipedia"? Cos I think we all could have figured that out really and a lot of us were aware of it to some extent. And if they don't end up dying of drugs or drink they get some other shit luck like cancer, or they get heart attacks from a life of energetic stage antics

Bill Hicks

Eric Morcambe

Peter Sellers

Tommy Cooper

Andy Kaufman

John Belushi

John Candy

Graham Chapman

Marty Feldman

Mitch Hedberg

Sid James

Richard Pryor

Peter Cook

Rik Mayall ( :( )

Phil Hartman

Robin Williams

Stephen Fry (tried to off himself)

Chris Farley

Phyllis Diller

Shit, even Benny Hill?

Also, all of The Goodies are still alive.

Going back to a topic we haven't discussed for a while, the TV show "The Comedians". It appears two more of the cast died in 2014 but stayed off the radar as neither got UK obits:

Bryn Phillips in February (79, cancer) > http://www.walesonli...omedian-6745892

and

Alan Fox in May (77, cancer) > http://www.shieldsga...n-fox-1-6645275

EDIT: And Brian Carroll died in October aged 84. http://www.thestar.c...ed-84-1-6916616

Ah, one of my DDP receives a lifetime achievement award (or as I like to call it, fast tracking fatalness). http://www.scotsman.com/lifestyle/arts/news/stanley-baxter-lands-lifetime-achievement-award-1-3677055

I think that Journalists should be banned from using the word Veteren (except to describe people who fought in a specific conflict) and replace it with Expected to die soon....

Fox News has a different take, quoting the longetivity of US comedians. Which list shall form the basis of my DDP team next year, if I'm spared myself of course. http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2015/03/13/want-to-know-secret-to-long-life-keep-laughing/

That used to be my team name.

Where's does that phrase come from?
