I read his The First World War. Not quite bedside reading, yet I read it with great interest.

WWI isn't the Great War in my country (WWII is), we were neutral then, and consequently no general history is written in Dutch about it.

Hein

So if WWII is WWI, what is WWII unsure.gif ?

Carlo Curley

The American concert organist had died aged 59. Very sad, I saw him give a masterclass once, and he was thoroughly entertaining, a great raconteur.

Helen Gurley Brown - 'legendary' editor of Cosmopolitan dead at 90 - who?

She was the editor-in-chief for Cosmopolitan in 1965 which is quite an achievement for a woman at the time. And she was there until 1997, when she stepped down at the age of 75.

Ron Palillo aged 63. No, I haven't heard of him either. Seems to have been involved in a few US shows.

The voice of the cube in ''Rubik, the Amazing Cube'', a 1980's animated series. 4 kids discover their Rubiks cube is alive and use its power to solve mysteries.

Why did I never hear of this?
